Q. ARE YOU ACCEPTING NEW WHOLESALE ACCOUNTS?
A. Yes! Contact us to be added to our seasonal weekly wholesale distribution list.
Q. I’M A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, MAY I PHOTOGRAPH YOUR FLORA & FAUNA?
A. Yes! Contact us a few weeks in advance, so we can set aside a quiet hour in the field for you. We request proper crediting of Lindell Flower Farm in any publications.
Q. IS THE FLOWER FIELD AVAILABLE TO USE AS A BACKDROP TO ENGAGEMENT, MATERNITY, FAMILY PHOTO SESSIONS?
A. Unfortunately not … as much as folks envision a field full of flowers our farm is nothing of the sort! A working flower farm is in a state of continuous planting & harvesting & often has rows consisting of baby seedlings, post-harvest stems with no blooms & lots of weeds!
Q. ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO DESIGN FLORALS FOR EDITORIALS / STYLED SHOOTS?
A. Possibly! Contact us as far in advance as possible so we can pencil you in around our commitments – We love creating artful, inspired designs & adore collaborating with like-minded vendors!
Q. WILL LINDELL FLOWER FARM DONATE FLOWERS OR GIFT CERTIFICATES TO MY ORGANIZATION / EVENT?
A. Possibly! Send us the specifics … we love supporting our local community & donate as much as is possible each year.
Q. DO YOU OFFER INTERNSHIPS OR HAVE ANY POSITIONS AVAILABLE?
A. Yes. We generally plan one unpaid farming-centric [not design] internship position per season. Feel free to send us your resume & a short essay describing why you’d like to work & learn with us to hello@LindellFlowerFarm.com
WEDDINGS & EVENTS
Q. DO YOU OFFER FULL SERVICE WEDDINGS?
A. No we don’t, our business model serves smaller weddings & elopements, which we do very well. We offer all personals aka ‘Wear & Carry’ florals plus our Botanicals by the Bucket for all of your DIY floral-filled dreams.
Q. DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM PURCHASE REQUIREMENT?
A. We don’t enforce a minimum purchase & we pride ourselves with catering to folks with all budgets.
Q. DO YOU DESIGN STRICTLY WITH YOUR OWN GROWN & FORAGED MATERIALS?
A. We sure do! That’s what makes us special … everything you purchase from Lindell Flower Farm is an honest, true representation of our farm, our family & the climate here, Litchfield County’s Northwest Hills in New Hartford Connecticut.
Q. DO YOU OFFER YOUR FARM AS A WEDDING VENUE?
A. While we aren’t a full service wedding venue, we are offering our beautiful property & forest for your very intimate wedding or elopement ceremony of 10 people or less. Our field is surrounded by distinguished old Oaks & a strong, lichen-covered stone wall that dates back to the 1700s. Email us at hello@LindellFlowerFarm.com for more information.
BOTANICALS BY THE BUCKET
Q. HOW MANY FLOWERS ARE IN YOUR BOTANICALS BY THE BUCKET?
A. Our buckets are filled with approximately 70 stems.
Q. CAN I SELECT THE COLORS IN MY BUCKETS?
A. Yes! We offer farmer’s choice & 4 color-specific options [Peach, White, Blush, Burgundy] – availability dependent upon season; If you’d like a blend of colors, choose ‘Custom’ & we’ll contact you for details.
Q. WHICH MONTHS CAN WE OBTAIN BOTANICALS BY THE BUCKET?
A. Generally, early-June through mid-October, dependent upon Mother Nature, of course.
Q. I’M CONSIDERING DIY’ING MY WEDDING, CAN YOU HELP ME DETERMINE HOW MANY BUCKETS OF FLOWERS I NEED?
A. We’re not able to provide DIY design consultation services & recommend purchasing a sample bucket prior to your event to ensure you’ll have enough product to cover your floral recipes.
Q. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I PICK UP MY BOTANICALS BY THE BUCKET TO ENSURE I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO DIY?
A. We recommend pick-up the day prior to your event.
Q. WHERE SHOULD I STORE THE FLOWER-FILLED BUCKETS & RESULTING DIY DESIGNED ARRANGEMENTS?
A. Flowers need to be kept cool & out of direct sunlight. A dark air-conditioned room or a cool basement is ideal. Oh & never put them in a standard home refrigerator! Florist coolers have specially calibrated cooling / humidity standards completely different from the fridge in your kitchen – your home refrigerator could permanently damage your flowers overnight!
Q. IS IT TRUE THAT HAVING CERTAIN FRUITS NEARBY COULD DAMAGE MY FLOWERS?
A. Yes, it’s true! Certain fruits while ripening produce Ethylene Gas; This Gas is odorless & extremely damaging to certain flower varieties – it basically hastens ripening & causes quick spoilage. It’s best to keep your flowers away from food & out of the kitchen to avoid issues!
