SEASONAL MIX - any & all colors which are most abundant in the field at time of harvest.

PASTEL MIX - soft & pastel flowers - light pink, lavender, peach, butter yellow, neutrals / whites, etc…

Q. CAN I SELECT THE FLOWER VARIETIES IN MY BUCKETS?

A. Our buckets contain whichever flowers are most abundant & most beautiful at each point in the season for a truly local & seasonal experience. Because of crop variability, we’re not able to promise specific flower varieties; Have a look at our AVAILABILITY GUIDE BY MONTH. The data is based upon prior years; Keep in mind, Mother Nature is in charge & changes are always likely.

Q. WHAT IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE CONTENTS OF A BUCKET?

A. An example of what a Bucket might consist of is:

FOCAL FLOWERS - 15-20 focal flowers - these are your larger flowers, depending on season, this could be anything from Peonies to Sunflowers to Large Zinnias to Dahlias

FILLER FLOWERS - 20-25 smaller detailed filler flowers - these might include wispy-airy flowers like Scabiosa, Gomphrena, Strawflowers, smaller Zinnias, Cosmos, Forget-me-not, Didiscus

LINE FLOWERS - 20-25 line flowers, which are tall & slender for interest, like Snapdragons, Larkspur, Stock, Foxglove

FOLIAGE - we’d then add in foliage of various types to fill the bucket to about 70 stems - it could be something like Green Mist, Bupleurum, Mountain Mint or lots of other things!

This is just an example! It’s definitely not a science & is very dependent upon Mother Nature & crop abundance.

Q. WHAT IS THE DIMENSION OF THE BUCKETS?

A. Our buckets are 2.5 gallon / 10-liter capacity; Measuring 9.75" x 9.5" x 7" (top x height x bottom).

Q. DO YOU OFFER GREENERY / FOLIAGE-ONLY BUCKETS?

A. We offer only greenery / foliage as an accent to our floral buckets.

Q. IS THE GREENERY / FOLIAGE IN THE BUCKETS SUITABLE FOR GARLANDS WITHOUT A WATER SOURCE?

A. The greenery we grow isn't suitable for that application & needs water!

Q. WHICH MONTHS CAN WE OBTAIN DIY BULK FLOWER BUCKETS?

A. Generally, early-June through mid-October, dependent upon Mother Nature, of course.

Q. CAN WE MEET VIA ZOOM OR HAVE A PHONE CONVERSATION ABOUT MY ORDER OR FOR QUESTIONS?

A. Our price point for DIY Bulk Flowers does not include consultations. In an effort to keep our prices stable, we’ve created a very clear & streamlined ordering process. This list of FAQs has been carefully & thoroughly written. Should you read all FAQs & still have questions, please contact us via EMAIL for assistance.

Q. WHY ARE THE DIY BULK FLOWER BUCKETS NON-REFUNDABLE?

A. Because we are a flower farm & grow every single stem that lands in our DIY BULK FLOWER BUCKETS, there is rigorous planning behind the scenes to produce this special product. Your DIY Bulk Flower Bucket order is coordinated & balanced with other orders / commitments weeks & months in advance - when you place an order for bulk flowers, your flowers are grown & reserved for you & are not made available for other clients / sales avenues.

Q. CAN YOU HELP ME DETERMINE HOW MANY BUCKETS I NEED FOR MY EVENT?

A. We get this question a lot, but design consultation services aren’t within the scope of our offerings. The number of buckets you’ll need to purchase depends solely on your vision & the design style & vessels you’ll be using. For example, some clients purchase very few buckets & design a single stem or two in bud vases, while other clients purchase many buckets & design elaborate & lush arrangements. We recommend purchasing a sample bucket prior to your event to ensure you’ll have enough product to cover your floral recipes. We also strongly recommend purchasing more buckets rather than just enough to supply your recipes - we know from experience you will always find more places you wish you had flowers at your event.

Q. WHERE DO I PICK UP MY BUCKETS?

A. We hold all DIY Bulk Flower Buckets in our large walk-in flower cooler. You will pick up at the FARM HOUSE, 518 Town Hill Road, New Hartford, Connecticut - driving up the long driveway, BEYOND THE FARM STORE. You will be greeted by a member of our team to ensure your buckets are loaded into your vehicle for safe travel.

NOTE: DIY BULK FLOWER BUCKETS ARE THE ONLY PRODUCT PICKED UP AT THE LINDELL’S PRIVATE FAMILY HOME & IS BY APPOINTMENT. All else is picked up via self-serve in the FARM STORE.

Q. WHEN I PICK UP MY BUCKETS, MAY I TAKE A QUICK FARM TOUR?

A. The farm is the Lindell family home, where we all live and work, thus is closed to the public for tours.

Q. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I PICK UP MY BUCKETS TO ENSURE I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO DIY?

A. We recommend pick-up the day prior to your event.

Q. HOW SHOULD I PREPARE TO PICK UP MY BUCKETS?

A. Your flowers will be waiting for you in buckets you'll take home; In order to safely transport your flowers, you should bring plenty of padding to place around the buckets, towels or blankets work great. You'll need enough padding to ensure the buckets don't move in transport. They can be secured on the seats with seatbelts or the floor, but never ever in the trunk!! Keep the windows closed & the Air Conditioning on high! Plan your flower pick up as your last stop, so you'll drive the blooms directly to their safe destination as smoothly as possible.

Trucks & compact cars do not work well for transporting many buckets - if possible, plan your pick up in a nice big SUV, Station Wagon or Mini Van type vehicle.

Q. WHERE SHOULD I STORE THE BUCKETS & RESULTING DIY DESIGNED ARRANGEMENTS?

A. Flowers need to be kept cool & out of direct sunlight. A dark air-conditioned room or a cool basement is ideal. Oh & never put them in a standard home refrigerator! Florist coolers have specially calibrated cooling / humidity standards completely different from the fridge in your kitchen – your home refrigerator could permanently damage your flowers overnight!

Q. IS IT TRUE THAT HAVING CERTAIN FRUITS NEARBY COULD DAMAGE MY FLOWERS?

A. Yes, it’s true! Certain fruits while ripening produce Ethylene Gas; This Gas is odorless & extremely damaging to certain flower varieties – it basically hastens ripening & causes quick spoilage. It’s best to keep your flowers away from food & out of the kitchen to avoid issues!

Q. DO I NEED TO RETURN THE BUCKETS?

A. No, your buckets are included in your purchase price. However, we will gladly take them back if you’d like to recycle them! Drop them off inside our Farm Store, or outside the Farm Store doors if we’re closed.
